What do you believe?
I. The True God: We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and earth; inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct and harmonious in the great work of redemption.
II. Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, was born of a virgin, is wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose from the grave and ascended into Heaven.
III. The Holy Bible: We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has God for its author, salvation for its end, and that the truth within it is without error; that it reveals the principles by which God will judge us; and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions should be tried.
IV: The Fall of Man: We believe that mankind fell through the sin of the first man, Adam, and that all men are sinners in need of
salvation. “Not the place where you simply come to Church, but the place where you become the Church!”
V. Salvation: We believe that salvation is a gift of grace from God, received through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
VI: Eternal Security: We believe that every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ.
VII. The Righteous & The Wicked: We believe that those persons who die without faith in Jesus Christ spend eternity in Hell and those persons who die with their sins forgiven, through faith in Christ, spend eternity in Heaven.
VIII. Baptism: We believe that water baptism is in obedience to the command of Christ and is by immersion after salvation. “Not the place where you simply come to Church, but the place where you become the Church!”
IX. The Church: We believe that the local church is the local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the head.
X. The Return of Christ: We believe that the end of the world is approaching; that at the last day Christ will descend from heaven, and raise the dead from the grave to final retribution; that a solemn separation will then take place; that the wicked will be adjudged to endless punishment, and the righteous to endless joy; and that this judgment will fix forever the final state of men in heaven or hell, on principles of
righteousness.
- Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” - Genesis 1:26
- Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. - Matthew 28:19-20
- The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. - 2 Corinthians 13:14
II. Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, was born of a virgin, is wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose from the grave and ascended into Heaven.
- And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth… For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. - John 1:14; 3:16
- For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. - Hebrews 4:15
- For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. - 2 Corinthians 5:21
- All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17
IV: The Fall of Man: We believe that mankind fell through the sin of the first man, Adam, and that all men are sinners in need of
salvation. “Not the place where you simply come to Church, but the place where you become the Church!”
- Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned—for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. - Romans 5:12-15
V. Salvation: We believe that salvation is a gift of grace from God, received through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 6:23
- He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit. - Titus 3:5
- For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9
- But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. - John 1:12
VI: Eternal Security: We believe that every person who truly is saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one. - John 10:28-30
- In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. -Ephesians 1:13-14
- Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. - Hebrews 7:25; 10:10, 14
VII. The Righteous & The Wicked: We believe that those persons who die without faith in Jesus Christ spend eternity in Hell and those persons who die with their sins forgiven, through faith in Christ, spend eternity in Heaven.
- Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. - Revelation 20:14
- For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16
VIII. Baptism: We believe that water baptism is in obedience to the command of Christ and is by immersion after salvation. “Not the place where you simply come to Church, but the place where you become the Church!”
- But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. – Acts 8:12
- Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit– Matthew 28:19
IX. The Church: We believe that the local church is the local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the head.
- And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. - Ephesians 1:22-2
- For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. – 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
- Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.” “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. –Revelation 22:11-1
